Little update after the engine repair (camshaft) and my holydays in Portugal...
Car drove wunderfull in the 2600+ miles round trip with no engine problems.
On the return trip aircon packed up in the north of Spain with 40C outside while sitting 2 1/2 hours in trafic due to a 5 car pile up on the motorway.
Just before Le Mans drove over a dodgy expansion joint in the last bridge before the end of the motorway and by the time I got to the end of that stretch of road ( +/- 3 miles ) I had no BRAKES
Stopped the car without hitting anything and on the phone I went to call recovery and here is the warning...
My road side cover ( Eurocover ) is/was not valid in Europe ( and I was not alone ) and was told that the car was a write off and I had to get transport to Britain on my own (????) I have fully comp. cover with europe wide recovery ( well thats what I pay for).
After recovery by a french garage ( 200 quid ) and arrieving at the garage there was another british car with exactly the same problem with the insurance (no euro cover on the Europe cover recovery )....
What is the point on paying for recovery/road side assist in Europe just to be told after you break down that you are not covered... (????)
Many thanks to the Peugeot garage Didier Brault in Domfront en Champagne for sorting the burst flexy pipe and putting me back on the road.
