Re: CD changer installation help req please!
Thanks. I did need to wire the inline fuse up! Strange. Anyway, after the switch on, I heard the changer make a noise and then nothing. Basically, the car comminates to it fine as it comes up as CDC in the dash. The head unit says cd error and this is because the auto loader is jammed with a load of cd's that the seller off ebay had left in there.
The thing won't eject either and makes any noises at all when you press eject.
The unit is drawing power fine though as you hear the unit move slightly when you plug it in.
Reading the handbook there should be screws in the unit when transporting it to stop the internals from flying around in there (the internals are suspended on floating rubber mounts). These were not in there when I received it.
So the unit does not work becuase there is a big old jam of trays and cd's which is either caused by
1). The bolts not being inserted prior to dispatch and he forgot to remove his cd's
2). The seller knew the thing was b4ggered and sent it anyway, hence why the cd's were in there.
Anyway, I have emailed him but he did not answer my last email before so who knows if he will answer. To top it off he is moving to NZ so will prolly create a new ebay account!
