Well finally done the dreaded thermostat on my 2002 156 2.4 10v jtd..
after sorting out which thermostat I needed it was time to get my hands dirty, was a little apprehensive after reading about how hard a job it was but not as bad as led to believe..
First off remove battery , then undo the 3 bolts on the tray to ease things along..
Then off with the sensor wire , and the pipe clips luckily only few were the fastened type..removed these with a pair of long nose pliers.
once pipes off then can see the 2 bolts holding it on,
top one easy, however the bottom one is different
this involved undoing the nut then I bent the plate over and undid the bolt holding on the thermostat
replacement not to bad new pipe clips and topped up the anti freeze all in all took me hour and half including tea break ..
old thermostat looked bit worn
now next on the ever growing to-do list is rear disks ,, why did I get another Alfa ,,,, I remember .... I`m a petrol head
