OK - on my 2001 V6 (so CF3 engine, the latest you can get), the connector is not behind the glove box - it is in the drivers footwell. It is a very small 5 or 6 pin plug, it looks like a computer connector rather than something you would find on a car. It may well be ziptied already, but I separate the halves, does with contact cleaner and then re-assemble with a ziptie locking it together. I need to do this every 3 years or so.
Now mine is intermittent - I can drive the car for 300 miles, and then suddenly the light goes on and it slows to a crawl. Quick reset the multiecuscan and I'm off for another 300 miles. Eventually I get annoyed enough to grovel in the footwell and find the connector.
