Re: Is my V6 underpowered???
Hmm, this is slightly odd mate, as I went up against a 328i before in my 156 V6 and obliterated it. I mean, literally, I left him for dust.
It could be that he had chavingly and jokingly stuck a 318i badge on the back of an M3 or something, but this is doubtful.
I had no problems beating EVERYTHING I came into contact with on the roads, apart from a modified Honda CRX which managed to keep up RATHER well.
Does the acceleration feel smooth and constant? No flat spots or missed beats etc? What is the idle of the car like, does it jump around a bit or is it steady?
When I had my V6 it felt like 190BHP, as I owned an ST24 which had 170BHP and the Alfa would have smoked that, and now I have taken a Mitsy Galant for a test drive and although quick it doesn't compete with my Alfa.
It is possible you require a new MAF sensor or something along those lines, not too sure though.
Now I'm back in the Mondeo though I feel VERY slow. But there wasn't a single time I felt that way in the Alfa.
Take for instance the time I had a brand new Audi something up my ar$e on a 'Private Stretch of Road', I sunk the boot and got to 130MPH within a matter of seconds, it's a bloody quick car and if you feel yours is underpowered then it will be. Because in no way did mine ever feel underpowered.
