156 Sportwagon Rear Wiper not working

Hi Sportwagon Afficionados, I have a 156 and the rear wiper does not work. Whilst the likely culprit may well be the motor I was not able to see any volts when using a voltmeter on the incoming plug. This leads me to suspect the switch on the wiper stalk or other electical problem. Does anyone have any patent methods of diagnosing the electricals/wiring/switches/relays before I take the back panelling apart (with those pesky 'ziploc' retainers) in order to get at the motor connections. Many thanks.

Silly question, and I apologise in advance for its imbecility...but have you tried a new fuse..or checked the relay (My Sportwagon is away so I can't check which it is)

If not volts at multiplug then its not likely to be the motor. And yes, watch those damn ziplocks on the back panel. I broke my panel and had to get a new one..silly boy
