Engine not starting - Time Sensative!
So yesterday I drove 1 mile to the shop as I pulled up had a loss of power and then it said Motor control system failure.
I tried to start it again and it just makes a weird noise. I have heard of this issue I tried to bump it and no go. So I waited for the engine to cool thinking it may be this as I know its a common thing with the crankshaft sensor.
I went back this morning and tried starting it cold, no go. So I took the engine and belt covers off and no belts were damaged. So I called my local garage to come pick it up (only 100m away)
They have had a quick look and they seem to think that a belt is damaged as they say it isn't turning over at all. (But haven't looked at the belt?) Is this not the result of a dodgy crankshaft sensor.
The belts were changed 2 years ago and have had 20,000 mile on them. It was serviced 3 weeks ago all new filters oil coolant etc and the engine is a 1.6 TS in a 147 collezione.
Please I desperately need some authoritative advice soon. If they do all this work and its a sensor I will be kicking off, luckily if its the case I have our calls recorded where I asked them to start there.
