Oil in my coolant
Well I picked up the Alfa yesterday and there was some oil in the coolant (which I knew about), and after the 2 hour drive home there was even more oil in the coolant (the bottle was half full of it).
The engine temp never went past 90 the whole way home, and the car is pulling like a train. The only headgasket failure I previously experienced was on a Rover (no suprises there!) and I lost all power, and had an idle that went from 500-1500 rpm until it was sorted.
The coolant tank doesn't smell of exhaust fumes, so before I got ripping the heads off is there anywhere else the oil and coolant could mix together like that (I saw something mentioned about an oil coolant heat exchanger - anyway to test it)?
