I'm new to this forum, and would like some advice or assistance.
I own an Alfa 147 (1.6 ts) with 41000 km. I've had the variator, cambelt and tensioners replaced approximately 2000 kms ago, but I feel that the motor is not performing as it should.
The motor revs beautifully up to 4500 rpm, but it seems to struggle above this. I've had a diagnostic done at the local alfa dealership and they have diagnosed that the ecu is faulty with the following error code P0606 (faulty injection control unit). They have indicated that the ecu must be changed, but this is an expensive affair.
The repairs to the variator and cambelt was done at a local repair centre which specialises in Alfas, and not at the local alfa dealership (due to costs).
Is it possible that the wrong software could have been downloaded (105 hp instead of 120 hp), and this is causing the problem, or have any of you experienced a similar problem, and can suggest a possible solution.
All assistance and help will be highly appreciated. BTW I am based in South Africa.
