Re: Service Costs?
I have used McLennans, but not for servicing yet, only for fitting shock absorbers, brake pads and 4 wheel laser alignment. They are excellent, really friendly and Stuart the owner loves to talk cars, his son races karts, and he showed me a rebuilt kart engine last time I was in that cost £800…for a single cylinder lawn mower engine! They quoted me £170 for the 2nd year service on my 3.2 so will be finding out from Westerns how much they charge just to compare. Stuart said they have been trying to find a bulk supplier for Selenia oil (only available in 1 litre cans), as they have been using another brand that is actually superior (can't remember which one). He told me that Fiat own part of Selenia that’s why they recommend it in their engines.
BTW, don't be put off from the appearance of the place when you arrive, it looks like a breakers yard at the front, but it's all Alfas that they are repairing/rebuilding or have bought in to use as parts for customers. Highly recommended.
