am I right in thinking both cars pre and facelift interior are interchangeable

Yes, but......

The texture of the plastic on the post-facelift trim is markedly different from the pre-facelift ones, so you'll see a distinct difference between the door cards and the dash if you put post facelift door cards into a pre-facelift car.

I just picked up the tweet/door handle covers from the facelifted version and the black plastic is smoother where as the pre-facelift is more textured.

Was thinking of replacing the door cards with the leather version from the facelift as I like the pattern...very rarely do I see them available for 5dr versions!

Its almost easier to get the original re trimmed to match the leather than actually find some done.
