Advice needed from Northern Ireland Alfisti
I'm about to get my '02 156 2.4 JTD cambelt/tensioners/pump(?) combo changed. My cars on 62k, serviced at 59k, and she's not due another service for some time. She drives fine, save for an occasional VDC warning light when cornering at low speeds but this disappears after I stop then restart the engine. However, I've just read from relevant threads that tyres and/or poor battery can cause this so I'll get these checked. Ok, so I don't want to use to the local Alfa dealer (too pricey), but as I have an aftermarket warranty, I need to use a 'reputable' garage i.e. someone who can be trusted not to suddenly 'discover' 'other' problems. I live in Belfast, N.Ireland, so I welcome garage recommendations from any local (NI) Alfisti? I prefer to stay around Belfast-area but I'm willing to travel further afield if it's worth my while (in terms of cost and customer service). Thanks.
(I'd appreciate any info this week as I'm due to take her on a big run over this coming weekend and I'd like to get the belts done before then, if at all possible.)
