Re: 156 "biteless" brakes
My 156 was brand new in 2003 IT WOULD NEVER STOP.
They couldnt find anything wrong with it, but the brakes were awful, they would not, could not, bite.
This afflicts many post 2002 cars for whatever reason, personally it was either too hard a pad compound (sold at 50,000 miles and still on the first set!) or a lack of hydraulic pressure.
Incidentally I wore out 2 sets of rear pads!
I always had to warn people borrowing it to brake early, you had to, it didnt matter if you stamped on the pedal, pumped the pedal, braked quickly or slowly, nothing made any odds.
They 147 always pulled up in what seemed like half the distance, the 159 seems to pull up in half the distance of the 147!
Unlike Hunter, my 159 brakes are beyond criticism, they really are.
