'07 3.2GT de-tuned?

I am a 156 GTA Selespeed driver and recently thinking of changing to 3.2GT for its more beautiful outlook and comfort.

Last year I had test driven the 3.2GT and the feeling is that it has very similar engine characteristics compare to my GTA but I did not make up my mind that time. Just last week I went to the local dealer and test drove a '07 made GT 3.2. However, I felt that the engine of the '07 model is more sluggish, and the lovely alfa V6 sounds differently. I don't know if it is because the car is not completely run in.... however, both the '06 and '07 model that I drove are both demo/ test cars with less than 500 km mileage. Salesman told me that the '07 model is more refined but I don't know if it is true or just the '07 test car is problematic.

What do you guys think? I wish to hear comments from the '07 3.2GT owners especially those who has driven GTA before so as to make this difficult decision.

Should be the same as all 3.2's in sound but has 10bhp (240bhp) less and different torque characteristics than a GTA.

Try another!

no idea to be honest, but if they've 'refined it' then maybe they have dropped it down a bit. So I suippose the answer would be you'll need to look for an 06 car?

sounds like ******** to me.

if he's certain about it, have him explain exactly what has been refined, that would account for what you felt/found.

a change in the colour of the seat stitching shouldn't make the car slower.

I thought they stopped making the 3.2 GT two years ago

Re: '07 3.2GT de-tuned?

The 3.2GT is no GTA. It is a much softer car and cannot touch the GTA for performance handling or roadholding. It was one of the reasons I opted for the diesel GT after my GTA. I do a lot of motorway driving and it's quite impressive. From rest and around tight country roads it's not that good but as I recall neither was the 3.2 in comparison to the GTA.

The worst thing is the sound of that diesel on start up - It's like having a super model who's ok until she opens her mouth to speak.
I would go for a 3.2GT but improve it -handling kit and power upgrade.

Don't forget, its another year, another change to target emissions ratings, etc, all these things affect fuel mappings, exhaust components and tuning... but as Mr Rosso says - Try another!
