Alfa 156 1.9 JTD clicking following clutch and flywheel change HELP PLEASE?!

Hi, I'm new here so thank you for any support offered!

I recently had a clutch and flywheel change in my Alfa 156 (2004) 1.9 JTD and it has since developed a strange clicking noise, but if you hang your head out of the window it sounds like a ping-pong ball bouncing twice, quickly.

The noise happens when you hit biting point, at lower speed, in 1st and second gears mainly, the tone changes in third gear and then it almost vanishes. The clutch is fine, gear change seems ok and acceleration is normal.

The sound appears to be coming from somewhere around the passenger front wheel / behind the footwell. It is consistent, but hasn't got any worse.

Is this just the new clutch "bedding in" as someone has suggested to me or could this be something more sinister?
