Heating has mind of it's own!

Hi all,

The heating temperature in my 156 keeps increasing all by itself, I'll set it to say 21deg and when I next look at it it will say 25deg, sometimes I catch it creeping up or have to fight it to get the temp down to what I want.
I have it set to manual not fully auto.
I've got the facelift, twin zone system and only appears to be the drivers side that's affected, I presume it's a fault with the dial on that side.
Anyone experienced something similar?

Yeah, I had that on mine. It is caused by a dry solder joint on the switch sensor (photo detector). You need to remove the climate panel, open it up and re-solder the photo detector sensors - there are 3 of them, one for each knob - may as well do them all when you have it open.

I should have some pics from when I did mine - will have a look for them tomorrow if you want, although is you car not still under warranty??

The other option is to get it fixed here: http://www.bba-reman.com/catalogue/D...ledProduct=515
