147 JTD Timing tensioner
I have a 147 8 Valve 2004 JTD that I'm trying to complete a timing belt tension. The tensioner bolt is on a sliding slot on the engine case and there is a small circular stub next to it.
I assume that the stub locates in the long slot on the tensioner base just below the circular 4 ish mm hole. Could anyone confirm this please.
Also when tensioning it sounds as if I need to check the timing marks on the belt and cogs then slide the tensioner (on its sliding bolt) firmly up onto the belt and tighten, then turn the engine 2 revolutions clockwise and recheck the timing marks. Then untighten and push the tensioner arrow against its spring until the arrow points to the 4 mm hole and retighten. Is this correct? Should the arrow stay in place once tightened or spring back to its start position?
Many thanks in advance.
