156 Exhaust query

Just noticed I have a small leak coming from the flexi part of my exhaust right at the front...

Has anyone had to get a replacement bit for theirs ? Does it have to be an alfa part, is it expensive ? looks like it detatches just under the manifold branches thankfully... So not too hard to get off..Well.. or as bad as it could be..

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Re: 156 Exhaust query

just replaced mine, you have a few options -

1. Buy cheap front section for approx £70, I look at one at my local motor factors and decided against it, very badly made and the 2 into 1 join was awful, I'd also read of people having issue with these whistling.

2. Buy just the flexi section (there are some on ebay) and have the old cut out.

3. Buy original front section.

I bought an original front section from alfaworkshop for approx £130 delivered, quality is 10x better than the crap that most places will sell you.

Fitting can be a pain, bolts that connect the front section to the manifold can sheer off and need to be drilled out and the lambda can be a difficult to remove.

You will need new gaskets too, around £15 for the pair from a dealer...

Re: 156 Exhaust query

Thanks for the reply.. I was going to ask where the best place to get a new genuine one from...

I was considering just buying a new lambda at the same time as my car has just come past the dredded 70k ....

I think I will talk to alfa workshop and try and get one from them

Thanks again !
