There was one burnt out near us recently, on the A249 at Jade's Crossing - I think you can google it, but this place is a notorious spot - amongst a lot of people, a young girl & her nan were killed here by a speeding driver (well, he was driving, they were crossing the road, and he hit them - who knows if he was actually speeding or not (but most people do here)). The family (NOT the council of the Greed Camera Money) raised the money & paid for the fantastic footbridge to cross the road. Such a fantastic effort. Peers said NO... how many death would you like exactly?
The thing is, I agree with the cameras being there - it's a worthy location. When i saw it burned out, I thought "good principle, but you've got the wrong one".
In general tho', the term Greed Camera does apply - they put them on roads where people are likely to speed (that's the justification) just to catch them & get Christmas Club money. Disagree? Okay, where does the money go? Employing more fat f***ers to sit in vans, snapping away when the actual offence isn't offensive to anyone other than a misplaced speed limit sign?
Money spinner - pure & simple. Even if it's for the fat c***'s wages. Get a real job sonny. A job you can tell your online mates about in honesty (cos you have no real mates - or you lie to them about what you really do). Was this really what you became a Police officer for, or became a Civvi for? Get a life & make a difference. Sitting in the back oif a Van with £25k's of camera? Jeez... get a grip... (& a life).
As you might be able to tell, I hate this scum more than I hate anything else.
Greed Camera - in 99% of cases it's true
Judged by your peers? In Heaven maybe... not here on earth tho'
