what a night
just got in from being stranded in the asda car park for 2 hours, i came out of asda at roughly 11.50 i loaded the shopping in the boot and attempted to start the car , the car wouldnt start it tried its best to start but it just wouldnt start, so i left it a few minutes then tried again ...dum du dum dum ... motor control system failure came up , so i checked the battery connection wiggled the plugs and checked the fuse box ...all looked ok ,
i ended up ringing the AA and 50 mins later he arrived and plugged the fault code checker into the car and found a few fault codes
1. p0130 - o2 sensor
2. p0300 - multi cyl misfire
3. p0301 - no 1 cyl misfire
4. p0304 - no 4 cyl misfire
5.p0335 - crank shaft sensor
6. p0571 - brake switch failure
7.p1135 - fuel air meter
after clearing all the fault codes the car started up and ticked over as it should , but one fault code remained - p1135 fuel air meter . the software wouldnt let him clear that code and most likely it was a dealer only code clear .
the AA chap said it is most likely the crank shaft sensor error that is causing the non start as that controls the spark to the ignition ,
what would you reccomend guys ? im going to see what its like tomorrow but theres no way im using the car for daily use when it might not start up.
