Re: Dodgy throttle response!! Help!
It is all sorted!!!
Quick run through, might be of use to others.
The problems - In warm weather, when the car was cold, the first mile or so would be horrid, the car would lack any power at all from idle to 3000rpm, then suddenly you'd get a big whoosh of power, very odd, but I lived with it for 2 years.
Next, recently any more than 3/4 throttle resulted in a lose of power, not a gain. Over taking, or pulling away from a junction became dangerous.
In higher gears from lower in rev range say below 3000rpm, adding throttle resulted in subtle pinking from the engine.
Bought a new BOSCH MAF from Alfa workshop (BOSCH code 0280218019)
This solved both problems, the power now comes from start up from cold, and is linear, the top end is back, it needs less throttle to maintain same speed, fuel consumption is better over the half tank that has been through from full since the change. Also pinking is gone and the car feels more willingly and lively.
Best £123 I've spent in the 2 years I've had it!!!
