How do......... I bought a '04 GT three weeks ago. Drove it home (260 miles) and that motor failure light went on. It took me 6 hours to get back in limp home mode. Took it to local dealers, they 'fixed it' , light came on again on the way home. Took it back, they kept it for two weeks and ended up putting in a new turbo and numerous valves. Initially I was cursing Alfa, very bitter and felt a fool. Work colleagues took great delight in slagging off Alfa build quality.
Anyway - I am now stupidly happy with this car. It is awesome (its a JTD). A couple of things have cropped up. Most recently the passenger window refused to come up smoothly. Worried about it, was going to take it back to Alfa and then read a thread posted on here, worked out the reset and now all fixed. Free of charge
However - when the turbo was fixed the mechanic came out with a big frown on his face. "Have you noticed your wheels " he said, "No" says I. "They are the wrong ones" he told me. Up to this point I was fairly happy with them. They work and looked ok. (I did little or no research on GT's.... just saw this one and loved it).
It seems that the dealer/person who sold it to the dealer pulled a fast one and put 16" 147 wheels on it. If this mechanic had not mentioned it I would have carried on being happy but I am now obsessed with the things not being right.
So - does any one have a set of decent 17" wheels for sale, know where I can get some at a reasonable price, have any suggestions for what looks best or want to take the multi spoke wheels off their car and swap for these ones before they sell their car
I do not want to go crazy price wise as I am already doing that getting the sound system up to speed.
Thanks and thanks also for the theads you all post. I am fairly confident that I can deal with any niggles from the group knowledge on this forum. You are all smashing people. I just want your wheels.
