Knocking noise under acceleration?
This is a weird one, well for me anyway. My car when going over rough roads is great as far as clunks go from the suspension, it's pretty much silent, rare I know and I also know it won't last long. But I do have a noise when I hit imperfections in the road under any sort of acceleration. At first I thought it was an interior rattle coming from the lower dash board, then I noticed this rattle over bumps was only when the accelerator was pressed not matter how lightly.
So just rolling = perfectly silent over bumps. Under any sort of acceleration = knocking noise over bumps.
From my very limited mechanical knowledge It sounds as if something may have come loose either on the accelerator mechanism that only rears it's head when the pedal is pushed. I've not had chance yet to have a good mooch around but wondered weather anyone could point me in any direction before I start looking, as, as I've said earlier my mechanical knowledge is very limited!
