Had this problem about 18 mths ago. One of the pipes actually pushes into the top of the oil segregator and it was this one on mine which was loose. It appears to be a similar type of fitting as you get in plumbing fittings eg speedfit type. There is a little collar which you lift up and it allows the pipe to be pushed fully down-if you pulll up the pipe gently the little 'brass' collar (you can just see eow the pipe) will lift slightly. You then pull this up and at the same time push the pipe downwards . Incidentally, the part of the pipe on mine that went into the canister looked like copper. I only found this out when I bought a SAAB unit from a breakers. For what it's worth I could not get the pipe to push home until I took the canister and pipework off the engine and I was able to push the pipe straight into the canister. You don't need the pliers as the clip is just holding the rubber hose onto the copper type pipe and it is this that is loose. If you can't get this sorted I may be able to post a photo of the spare SAAB unit I have as a photograph may explain it much better than I have. I have to say though that the pipe in your photograph seems to be well located. In my car it was hanging out of the canister.
