Cry Like A Baby Rust! Already!?!

Hello and thanks for reading this.
I've had a quick glance underneath my 147 Collezione (6 months old and under 4k miles) and have noticed quite a lot of rust around the exhaust and on other parts - sorry not an expert on car bits -
Is it normal?? should I have it checked by the dealer?

Re: Rust! Already!?!

The exhaust can look rusty quite quickly. Especially the 147 rearbox.

Re: Rust! Already!?!

As David says it's not uncommon to get surface rust with any car on exposed bits like the back box. If you are talking on the body panels though it's a different story.

Re: Rust! Already!?!

I'm with David and Jim on this one. If you are concerned get it up on a ramp and see if the metal is pitted, if not, forget about it. It's more likely it's just cack sticking to the hot areas.

Yes; the rearbox always rust once the paint wears away. A quick paintjob should do it....or a backbox replacement

Not unusual. Had that on a 156 exhaust from new. Still going strong after 5 yrs though.
