Ride quality of uprated suspension

The ride on my 147 with 17's and standard suspension is shiite. But anyone with a 147 on 17's will know that.

The car is crying out to be lowered, so Im looking to improve the looks of the car and the ride quality.

So my question is, if I uprate the shocks and springs all round, while dropping the car approx 30-35mm on non adjustable dampers, will the car still crash, judder and violently vibrate when I hit the shedload of potholes on Britain's roads?

Re: Ride quality of uprated suspension

I'm sure a couple of people who have uprated the springs & shocks have reported a better ride, due to the better quality shockers used in after market suspension kits. Could be wrong though

Re: Ride quality of uprated suspension

The standard suspension is designed for 16s, not 17s, so it rides like **** as a result. Replacing springs & dampers with a quality item will improve ride markedly.

Look at Konis FSD range of selective frequency dampers.
