Alfa GT - Sticking caliper after replacing rear disks and pads
Yet another problem...
So my brakes developed a grinding noise(Nearside) - I assumed a lip disk. Upon replacing the brakes I found that the inner-pad was literally gone, only the backing plate remaining. Turns out the top slider pin was welded shut by dried grease. The other side seemed fine, only the caliper piston was a bit stiffer.
Fast forward, all four slider pins on both sides cleaned and greased up using Mintex permanent non-metallic grease and sliding well. New pads and disks fitted up and all is well.
After test driving I noticed the OS (not the one with the sticking slider) was considerably hotter than the other side.
I've yanked up the handbrake a few times so I assume the pistons are all correctly lined up, handbrake cable seems to tighten by 5mm on the hot side (I assume the other side is the same)
Any ideas? Frying my brain -_-
