Has anyone had any issues with driveshafts causing vibration on an Alfa 147?
I've got serious vibration 50 Mph+ and gets worse as the speed increases, the steering wheel wobbles (like wheels out of balance) but the whole car vibrates quite bad, most noticeable from the front footwells.
I have checked the usual things.......wheels are ok, been balanced twice, even tried them on another 147 and they are fine, the wheels off the other car were tried on mine and it still vibrated, so I think I can rule bad wheels out.
Got new discs fitted, checked them with a DTI and they are 5 thou out at the outer edge of the disc, with is nothing in terms of tolerance.
Hubs are the same, checked with DTI, no high spots that would cause the vibration.
Have just fitted reconditioned callipers and new pads to, so pretty sure, Discs, pads and callipers can be struck off the list too.
The driveshafts themselves don't seem to have any play in them, but if they were out of balance I don't suppose you could feel this with the car static.
Also the suspension appears sound, no excess play at all......
Any help/advice is greatly appreciated, as this is doing my head in
