156 SW surging after service, belts and MOT
My wife recently moved from an 02 spider to her current 156 Sportwagon and after having a lot of work done by the dealer before we bought it, the car surged a great deal from 1800rpm through to 2200 if you were heavy on the pedal or much much further if you took it easy. If you ran the fans in the cabin you could also smell diesel quite strongly.
We took it back and they diagnosed a split pipe supplying the turbo and fixed it for us. However not 36 hours after the car is still doing it, although not as bad, it does seem to get worse, especially if you're driving it easy. The diesel smell has gone
I'd had a good hunt around on here before she took it back and told her to tell them we thought it was turbo related.
We're going to take it back again as its cleadly not been fixed yet. Any suggestions as to what it might be? I thought sticky vanes possibly?
The fuel economy is also not what I'd expected - it's a 150bhp 16v jtdm and the first tank looks like we're going to get about 500 miles of mostly town driving.does that seem right?
