cheap tryes on my 147

Hi all,

I'm after a couple of new front tyres for my 147 on 17" alloys she's just failed her MOT.

I'm on a budget and don't need anything tremendously sporty as I'm not driving like the loon I used to be.

So something that will last and offer reasonable performance will be fine.

Currently got the toyo proxes on her, which aren't too expensive, but could do with something the good side of 100 each.

Any ideas?

If you want to seriously go budget, then Colway CM3 215/45R17 87V go for 37.41 each. here

More Info

Yes they are remolds, but they are a quality item for the price.
Don't knock it, you would be surprised how good their tyres are.

Try Camskill.

I've used them before for tyres. They're good value and is delivery quick or what!!

Re: cheap tryes on my 147

I'd have thought you'd be certain to get any of the tyres usually recommended in threads on here for less than £100!

I recently changed from P7000s to Goodyear F1s on my 147 with 215 45 17s.

From what I remember of a fairly extensive investigation into alternatives (I'm a cheapskate!) the P7000s were usually around the £80 mark (as on Blackcircles) but the Toyos were nearer to £100+.

I eventually paid £83 a corner for the F1s but at a local place I'm yet to find a match for, inspite of what Mr Orange might have you believe about his local supplier (he only has little wheels you see!).

P7000s might be a good bet and they are standard tyre for the 147.

Don't have much knowledge of the cheaper models. I've always stuck to either the original tyre fitted to the car (in this case P7000s) or something highly recommended (in which case the F1s or the Toyos fit the bill).

60% of the time it works everytime.
