Alfa 156 v6 for sale/breaking - interest/advice required
Pictures to come soon....
Alas, the time has come for me to part with my much loved '98 Alfa 156 v6. She has been a fantastic car for the last 3 years but the number of ever increasing jobs (coupled with buying a house) before the next MOT have meant I've had to purchase something else (Saab 9 5 Aero estate for those interested).
List of stuff I can't find time to do:
All the brakes need new pads/discs (advisory on last MOT)
Rear right pad is rubbing sometimes, requires a quick tweak of handbrake to stop a squeeling noise while driving
Clutch has been on way out for a year or so! Spins up during hard accels, never let me down yet.
Timing belt is likely overdue
The front washers packed up a few weeks ago, think this may be a leaking washer bottle
Full right lock causes a kocking noise (this is where the wheel weights put on at the last tyre swap hit the brake hose holder, i'm sure this would be an easy fix).
Slight fuel smell during parkup, long time to crank and fire, I assume there is a small fuel leak on the low pressure side though I haven't had time to look in to this yet. Still drives fine without issue (althought I imagine MPG has taken a bit of a hit!)
Best bits (I can currently think of):
~70k miles, pretty low for this age of car
Tyres have life left in them yet
Great leather interior
Everything works (apart from the listed points above)
MOT runs out on 26 June 2015 so this could be a great opportunity for someone to buy a project car/car to break for the low mileage fantastic sounding v6 that you can drive to your chosen destination (I am still using it daily without issue).
I would love her to go to a fan so that the best bits can find a new home.
Would anyone be able to suggest what's best for me to do?
