Re: Post 2.0 Remap - Anyone got any tests to prove increased HP?
Right the good old CDA intake questions..
We don't make the CDA's, we just know what they produce and that’s why we suggest them, if you want something else fitted, we do not have a problem with that, we can supply anything!
If you want to test various filters, lets do it, simple as. You bring an open cone air filter along and we will bring a CDA including flexible hose and we will see what the results are like with the bonnet closed (as this is how it is usually driven on the road) and an under tray on a 156 or 147. The mistake most people do is test open cone filters with the bonnet open which is not going to give anywhere near the real results.
We will reverse any changes if required of course and you only pay for the one you want.
We have been fitting CDA's for years and they are located to achieve the best cold air flow, simple as and probably why we fit 3-4 per week on a wide variety of vehicles. We do not just fit CDA's but because of the position it needs to be in on the Alfa's we found this to have the best results in testing, so that is what we use.
I will give you a great example of how this is much better than a lot of things on offer
I looked at a Stilo 2.4 Abarth last week. It had an induction kit fitted that was designed especially for the car and had an open cone air filter on the end of it. I have seen quotes on other forums stating this gave +17bhp while a CDA gave only +3
When tested though the IAT was 85c until the fan came on, which then increased to 90c.
Then when we removed it and installed a CDA the car only had an IAT of 30c and an improved airflow of 13%
If an open cone on a silicon hose beside a radiator with an IAT of over 80c can produce more power than a CDA with cold air feed and a 15% improved air flow and that’s what you want fitted - then we will fit it for you!
Lastly, if you want your rev limit raised, simply ask and we will do it at the time, it doesn’t cost anything more.
