Re: French petrol?
I've never had any problems with French petrol from the supermarkets (most years for the last 30 I've had my holidays in France, either on the motorbike or in the car) having said that I'm off to Normandy next week, hope I've not tempted providence! The 98 octane is just a penny or two more expensive than the regular stuff and I always get much better mileage over there (probably because there's not this stop/start going I get in the S.E.). When you go enjoy the good food, wine and scenery and at least try to speak their language. I've very rarely had poor experiences in France.
p.s. Nev, thanks for the link re prices.
