Anyone good with vacuum?
As per my other thread I'm going through a process of elimination as best I can.
Im not convinced Im getting adequate vacuum from the pump/reservoir on my 1.9jtd GT(2004 model).
Ive removed the hose across the top of the engine behind and below the egr as near as I can get it to where it appears from the reservoir (or is it a solenoid on the reservoir?) and I cant discern any notable vacuum. I dont have a vacuum gauge to test properly with, but my finger over pipe doesn't do a lot and I put a tissue over to see if it was sucked at all and it wasn't(with engine running).
I've been using an air bed pump that will inflate and deflate to test the line, so I thought Id blow some air and suck some air down the line to test. No leak noises, but on deflate (suck) it does make induce a moan from near where the pipe emerges from the reservoir (or whatever it is). If I just blow into it with my mouth it does feel like theres resistance.
Brakes are fine so vacuum pump must be working.
As per my other thread this stems from a p1235 error, lack of movement on turbo actuator (now free'd up a fair bit and can be moved 0.5mm ish by sucking on pipe, or 1 cm by hand). Working my way through fault finding, isolating vgt solenoid etc to see whats wrong.
