Alfa gt window please please help

Hello fellow alfa fans I am going round the twist I have had a problem with my alfa gt passenger side window it wouldn't work full stop and on inspection i decided to replace the relay and the switch thinking these were the issue no joy

But on closer inspection i noticed the motor was disconnected (the connector was unplugged) to which i reconnected it YES I NO A SCHOOL BOT ARA but it went down fine but when it came to raising it ahhhhhhhh it wouldn't move so i came to the conclusion it was disconnected on purpose

Thank god it must mean the motor was to blame so i replaced the motor thinking finally its sorted and yes you guessed it still goes down but not back up until i shut the door so now i have to repeatable slam the door shut over and over while i apply pressure to the window helping it up to move it a inch at a time

please please help

I can't think of the particular circumstance but I have noticed when my driver's window has been down and I close the door it winds up.
However not always so I think there is some other thing I'm doing beforehand that causes it.

There's a thread somewhere I posted on regarding my driver's window.
In essence, after buying a new driver's switch it turned out to be a control box at the bottom right hand side of the driver's door. Some sort of window ECU (see this). This I believe is for both passenger and driver's windows.
I assume whether you use the driver's side switch to operate the passenger side window or the passenger side switch the window will not go up?
This was the exact (only driver's window) symptoms mine had. I was later told if it is the switch (or motor I guess) then it will not go up or down.
Obviously no guarantee as I bought a window switch first (I worked out the motor was OK because I put a live to the multiplug and wound mine up until I had time to fix it) but it was this ECU that fixed mine.
I have since sold the spare switch on eBay and at a friggin loss of £60

Priorities I find, are usually someone else's.
Statements above are all my own opinion and not fact.
