Looks ace in black - metallic? If so, same as my SW, which is currently parked in shade during wiltingly hot French summer. Life with a 156 without aircon would be rather less fun.
Anyone changed a rear suspension arm? I need to, but wondered whether it was (a) a simple DIY job and (b) whether you could simply re-bush...?
Lovin' my a/c today, s'funny really 'cos one minute its a road rocket screaming round the bends,, then I drive home steady on a hot day, enjoying the a/c and the super comfy leather seats and its a true chill out exec motor.
Mines Cosnos Blue BTW, but everyone says its metalic Black
As to rear arms, done it and its a cinch, you change the whole arm, the rear rear arm is different to the front rear arm (one before , one after the axle) the front rear is easier to change, as you only need to take off the hub nut- on the rear the whole bolt needs to be removed, which is often siezed in... Plenty of my fave (copperslip) when you reassemble.
I got mine from a local factor as it was needed in a hurry, but try shop 4 parts, or I think EB Spares were very cheap.
Good luck with it. (course you could put me and my family up for a few days, feeding us fine wine and french food, running us around and showing us the sights, an' I'd do the job for you
) seriously though its a nice job for an amatuer mechanic just be careful with the hub bolt
