Bought my 2.0 Twinspark 2000 plate last saturday (18th april.. Now officially Alfie's Birthday).
He is a nero black Lusso with momo black leather.
107,000 miles but full and comprehensive service history.
Full years mot and six month tax.
4 brand new tyres, new brake pads front and rear, new thermostat
Recent cambelt and aux belt + tensioners @ 106,210 miles
Both Lower and upper arms were done at 91,000 and rear bushes at 82,000
one owner from new.
Sunroof and aircon(needs recharging though).
Everything works the way it should with no problems.
The guy who previously owned it had a large file of bills and reciepts for everything that he had done to the car even down to replacement bulbs and wipers !
So I guess you could say I have been lucky to find a good one really. I love driving it and everytime it puts a big huge grin on my face...
Sounds perfect..... but like all cars that are 9 years old there is still minor stuff to do.
Jobs to do are :
Variator slightly starting to give the ever so slight diesel sound on start up if only for a maximum of half a second. It's a shame they failed to pick that up on the cambelt change really.
The offside rear electric window is disconnected due to the cables seized but a used spare from fleabay should sort that out.
I have to figure out how to prevent the inner sunroof cover from sliding shut and re-opening on acceleration and braking which has become a minor annoyance.
My youngest daughter (11) has figured out how to do it... "self adhesive velcro tabs at the rear and front of the sunroof seals Dad"
So a week later I am still very, very impressed. Nothing has gone wrong, Alfie pulls like a train and wants to be revved.
I've changed the gear knob for a tasty carbon fibre one (i'm on the look out for a matching centre console) The missus thinks the wood effect looks old and dated... I guess she is right.
Mind you, Alfie didn't want to give up the old wooden gearknob and put up a bloody good fight...
So much so that it eventually flew off and smacked me square in the bloody lip... I guess he grew attached to it... literally!
So at the moment, YES, i'm thoroughly enjoying life with my 156
