Congrats on the Jag Dazza, best change the member car now 'eh chap?
Love the look of that kit on the XJS, can't wait for some pics
Shame its an auto but nevermind, Jag autos are pretty good. Hopefully it will be decently quick but I reckon the Beemer will be the better drivers car.
Picked the car up today for £700 and gotta be honest, it's not mint but I'm in love.
The auto box is a 4 speed as far as I can tell, (In that it says '4 SPEED' just below the shifter,
, and although Hammy156 drove it back for me under his third party, fire and theft insurance from what I witnessed the kick down is VERY responsive,
I'm insured on it properly as from tomorrow and will let you know what she's really like then.
It's got the 3.6 Litre Straight 6 which apparently has 235BHP, and from the performance it does seem to have horse power around that figure, and not 120 that's left over from 18 years of carnage,
Actually Dazza I like Jags, and in many ways the XJS is made for the US market. But the steering wheel is on the correct side, I love auto boxes too.
What was the 1972 Vette that guy was on about- and he didn't read my post about STD Yanks not having enough muscle (I'm sure I posted that you can do a hell of a lot to them- but at a cost....Not your plan though was it Dazza?)
I also found a 5.6 litre merc coupe for you at under a grand...
You can keep the Merc Jay, I've got my Big Cat,
That bloke went slightly ranty to be honest mate and lost me half way through his temper,
You are bang on though mate, I didn't want to buy something that I'd have to do bits and bobs to, and despite what he was going on about there's no way on Earth I'd have been able to find something classic and American with the same power and looks as the Jag I've just bought. It's simply stunning and turns heads like nothing else I've ever driven. (In a good way hopefully,
I think one of the main reasons I like it so much though is because it doesn't exactly look like a Jaguar. Not that there's anything wrong with that mind! I'm just saying it looks more like a muscle car than it does a big motorway cruiser, like what most Jags look like.
I think the bright silver also helps the look of the car, it stands out and looks superb. Also, I haven't seen a single XJ-S in MONTHS, as opposed to most of my other motors I've had that you see every other day, I saw ZERO XJ-S's on the way to Manchester, which was a 400 mile round trip,
Here's a couple pictures anyway guys, I'll post a proper thread up with all the snaps tomorrow though once I've given it a quick wash and wax,
Not great by any means, but more snaps will come, I promise, ,
(With a months tax and 6 months MOT, for £700 I can't go wrong! Unless it blows up in a few days, in which case I'll be crying for a long time,
