Supermarket pump price currently 1.37 euros here in western France - don't get too excited, though, as it was .99 at the start of the year (sob).
For the last trip to the UK we tanked up in the ferryport, did the whole run-around from Dover-West Dorset, then up to S Glos, Cardiff, etc. before returning to France via Poole on one tank of diesel (thank you, Alfa).
And then? We rolled off the ferry in St Malo to find French diesel prices had shot up in the space of a week, to the point where we wondered why we'd bothered waiting that long before filling. Then we saw the news reports of hikes in UK prices.
With earnings falling and all essentials spiralling upwards, someone, somewhere is making a lot of (our) money...
