Two weeks since a post on this thread.....
I half expected one from Dazza, now he's back among the elite
So what is happening in the life of my 156?
Well as a treat I got one of those scuddetto grill trim sets, 5 bars that go across the grill, I think it really changes the front of my car, I also blacked out the shiny bars either side of the grill, which makes a difference too, it noe=w looks wider and meaner from the front
I don't think it would look as effective on a light coloured car, any thoughts guys?
I will post piccy's when I get round to washing it, I was going to wash it this morning, but I am working on the farm today and it may get a little muddy
luckily sheep **** wipes off the leather easily
I am currently working on a friends 318i to raise some cash to get a stainless steel exhaust for the 156, I can't really justify spending OUR savings on my car like that, but if its a foreigner, fair enough
We were discussing money the other day and I stupidly worked out how much more the 156 costs to run for me than, say a diesel Punto or similar, 1000 a year £20 a week
Only thing is when you've had a 156 for a while "normal" cars just look so
and suddenly the money don't seem so important, when you nail it at 3k, with the window down and the radio off, I still can't help but grin like an idiot, and a diesel punto becomes a stupid idea
You know I think we all take our Alfas for granted, my boss is looking for a Boxster, and the entry level one, with the same size engine as mine is SLOWER to 60 than the 156, by over half a second
I told him he couldn't get a car slower than mine
, although to be fair it did have an extra 3mph top end
You know Alfas are so underated and really underpriced, any V6 Alfa is a secondhand performance bargain, The 156 is with out any doubt the best looking family saloon that I know of. this is what made me look at one, then you look at the spec. and when you drive one, and hear that V6, and 24 valves, and feel the pull, as you push it to the redline
And nice comfy leather seats, six speed box, aircon, and a dash layout that is aimed specifically at the driver, that nice leather rimmed wheel in your hands, controlling the pin sharp super fast steering, every bend is a joy to go round...
Tell me where you can find a better car?
