MOT: Good News/Bad News..

My favourite time of year...MOT time for the 2.5 V6 SW, first one last year was suprisingly good, 2 front tyres the only damage, so was expecting the worst this year.

And my fears were confirmed when it failed...

On a blocked washer jet and side light bulb! Yay!

The bad news? The clutch is very much on the way out so have bitten the bullet and having it done next weekend and since it's such an epic job I'm having the cambelt/water pump done too. Bit painful on the wallet (900) except I love this car and hopefully this will keep it on the road for a few more years to come!

Now about those knocks from the suspension.....

just a heads up

front suspension knocks..

worth doing at least the antiroll bars bushes while doing a clutch as subframe needs to drop down.. worth checking other items too as some need removing while doing clutch could save a lot of later labour costs

No point dropping the subframe and not doing the suspension at the same time. You have to take the lower arms out, you have access to the ARB, drop links all out, might as well do the whole lot for the price of the parts.

Jack up the front of the car (both sides), take off a wheel, grab the anti roll bar and try and slide it side to side. If it moves that's probably (one of) your noises and you'll need to sort it while the subframe is out.
