Oil question - gearbox this time
Last weekend I made a drive just for fun on my favorite roads and I noticed that my gearbox is slightly crunching when I shift from 2nd to 3rd in high revs (above 5500rpm) I can shift without noise only slowly, giving the gearbox some time (1,5 – 2 seconds). Before thinking on all the expensive things that can wear in the gearbox I decided to change the oil first. Car has 80k kms and still the original oil. And now my problem begins.
My car manual says I should use TUTELA CAR ZC 75 SYNTH what is SAE 75W-80 EP, API GL 5 grade gearbox oil. I searched here some threads about gearbox oil, and it seems many owners recommend SAE 75W-90, API GL 5 specification. When I was looking in the Selenia online catalogue on http://www.selenia.net/
, the website recommended for my car TUTELA CAR TECHNYX what is SAE 75W-85, API GL 4 PLUS grade oil.
Now I am confused, should I use 75W - 80, 85 or 90? GL4 or GL5?
Locally I can get Castrol Manual TAF-X which is SAE 75W-90, API GL4 or TUTELA CAR MATRYX which is SAE 75W-85, API GL4. Can I use one of these or should I keep searching? Gearbox oil is changed rarely so I want to use a good one.
