Hi Everyone, I hope a few guys in the know will read this and share their experiences and expertise.
My beloved 156 2l TS has been standing for quite some time now due to electrical issues and I have decided to get rid of the immobilizer completely by fitting an after market engine management system without doing anything to the engine, besides new sensors and an overhaul.
The car has broken down on me a few times because of the immobilizer, managed to get it home each time without calling for a tow. my air flow meter has blown 6 times as well and thats why I want to change the management system.
my question is when i discard the immobilizer, will the car still lock and unlock remotely with the key fob, or do i have to fit another system for that purpose as well?
I was thinking of rebuilding my wiring loom from scratch as most of the plugs/connectors are so brittle they break as soon as anything puts any force on them and I have noticed that most of the copper inside the wires has a greenish color on them when I have done some electrical work and trying to find broken wires.
Any comments and ideas are welcome.
