Just to bump and update this thread, see below updates:
Smoke is only at high revs and smells fuelly.
Oil consumption is 1litre per 400miles approx
Garage looked at it and replaced rocker gasket due to internal leaks.
Oil consumption still 1litre per 400miles approx.
Occasionally get a waft of whiteish smoke on cold mornings.
Spark plugs white & crusty (burning oil).
No oil dropped on drive.
Today did a compression test, probably 30-45mins after a 30minute drive 3 read 212psi and 1 is at 202psi. Gauge reading didn't slowly reduce down on any of them while being held in (not sure it would though).
Can anyone give feedback on the compression readings? Does this sound OK? Can I nearly rule out pistons? Should I point the finger at the one cylinder down by 10psi - could this even be a slight valve leak into the head?
Not sure I am any closer to knowing what the problem is. Any ideas how to proceed from here?
Other things not yet considered or dealt with:
- Breathers haven't been properly checked.
- Air Filter box needs attention as it is loose.
- Correct Selenia oil needs using.
- Spark plugs look awful so need replacing.
