Moving brakes from 2.0 to 1.8 litre 156?
I was looking for some new brake disks and pads online, when I found that they had one size for 1.6 - 1.8 and another slightly bigger one for the 2 litre. I've got a 1.8 that's currently holding a 2 litre engine, and I still have the donor car the engine came from.
So I was wondering if the brackets and such are the same, so I could easily swap over?
Two reasons for wanting to do this..
1. The brakes and pads are worn out, the donor car has got rather new ones.
2. While I'm sure no one will notice it's a 2 litre, I would prefer getting it all road legal, so I am considering at some point to register it. And if there is a difference between the 2 litre and 1.8, I'm sure they'll demand those upgrades anyway.
What would I need to move over? Brackets, callipers, pads and disks?
And while this may be different from country to country, think they will accept the upgrade with used parts at all? Considering there won't be any paperwork and receipts?
When on the subject, just what are different from the 2.0 to 1.8 other than engine and then brakes? If it's too much I'll just take my chances.
