having owned numerous 156s in my time and I have found everyone drives different and this is down to engine size and chassis set up ,best handling one I had was a 156 jtd 19 8v but with eibach anti roll bars and kw adv3 coil overs(spring rate was softer than stock btw) and gsd3 tyres.now that was unbelievable ,it cornered flat and had unbelievable ride quality but driving my 156's compared to driving other makes I found you keep it pinned ,forget what the back does and steer it where you want ,having driven a brand new focus 1.8 ghia I found that rears lacked rebound damping as back was like a jack hammer pushing it and started skipping.....
a point worth mentioning though .....cars that come off production line some handle different than others ,perfect point is my mate used to drive and ride for traffic and there was always one car in fleet they kept away from because of this
