I've got two niggles on my 147 mjet:
1) VDC failure
2) Flashing odometer
I had had the full works of warning intially: EBD failure, airbag lights, VDC failure
This would go away after a restart and I saw it a 2 or 3 times within a couple of weeks. I got the battery replaced and this seemed to be cured but I still get the VDC warnings. I've read on different threads that this may be a wheel sensor or can happen if you touch the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time (don't do this). Anything else it could be which I've missed when reading previous threads?
I was hoping the flashing odometer would go away and the temp gauge would come back as the driver's electric window unit was missing initially. Temperature gauge is back plus I can finally open my windows and boot properly but the flashing odometer is still constantly flashing away. (I always give it time to complete the start-up checks.)
Is it likely that the two problems are connected? The car is still under full warranty from the indie dealer (another 5 months to go).
There are no problems driving it (still drives like a dream
) and the error goes away with a restart. It was worse at the weekend when visiting my parents in the north of England - rain related?
Is it worth disconnecting the battery to try and clear the old errors? If so, will I need any codes apart from the radio?
Thanks for any pointers,
