Oh God, what a day! I shouldnt have gotten out of bed!
For some time now, my rear wiper didint work (surprise surprise!). So today, I decided to do something about it. After reading a few threads here I went to the car, and took of the boot cover, and the whole wiper mechanism. The thing was stuck with a lot of rust and muck. So then I thought, let me check whether the motor works. So I plugged it in, and went to turn the ignition........
SUDDENLY ERROR MESSAGES EVERYWHERE WITH BEEP BEEP BEEP!!!! ABS, ASR, airbags, etc etc....I try to start the car....but noooooooooooooooooooooo- DEAD! only a click
I think I also smelled something but not sure how to describe it - it wasnt a burning smell. I go to check the battery, and the indicator is no longer green....it is clear....which means fluid top-up.
What did I do wrong? I was fidling with the wiper for 2-3 hours and yes I had the radio on. I am pretty convinced it is the battery. So what do you guys suggest? I will try topping up tomorrow. Will this affect the charge? I do not have a charger unfortunately. Is there any chance the battery will recover itself (?wishful thinking), so I can start the car up? I didnt even lock the car in order for the alarm indicator not to blink.
I guess it is the bus for me tomorrow.....
Any help/advice/suggestions is more than welcome!
