I'm honestly not trying to be offensive, but don't you think this is inappropriate on the public road. There's numerous examples of pedestrians/cyclists/ bus Queues being mown down and killed by people doing this sort of thing, including the 13 year old daughter of a friend of mine five years ago.
Apart from that a 2.5 156 has not much low down torque and really is not a traffic light grand prix candidate.
Yes, I do think it is inappropriate to be completely honest. And I am very sorry to hear about your friends loss. I am however an extremely safe driver in respect to around town driving and roads where there could be pedestrians etc.
Also, any fast driving I partake in on the motorway is always saved for the inside lane leaving plenty of space between myself and the car in front, I'm not one for weaving in and out around traffic.
Also, If i ever get involved in an impromptu traffic light race it is ALWAYS down long dual carriageway's. Not anything stupid like city centre's. Most of my driving is on the way to and from work in which case I am either on the motorway or going through National speed limit area's where there arent any houses / risk of pedestrians.
I understand that there is a large number of people killed by speeding motorists I do however attempt to excersize good judgment as to when to give it a quick blast of speed, and don't drive around suburban area's like a moronic chav trying to impress the local kid's with his exhaust that cost more than the car.
Speed limits are set in place for a reason, but I do believe when you have a large straight in front of you and it is NOT in a residential area then the odd bout of speed is called for.
The main Thread that I began with was supposed to be seen as a light hearted query as to what speed's could be achieved, I have however obviously crossed a line somewhere with this thread and offended people.
This was not my intention and I am sincerely sorry to anyone I have offended.
Have a good weekend,
