Yeah, lots of adverts pretending to be a download link on these sites. Just carefully try to locate and click the "Standard download" link which says it will be slow. Also you will have to go through a robot detection check which will ask you to copy a text, again obscured by lots of adverts.
Good luck.

Managed to get the download, you need to copy and paste the file location in your web browser this is a file download site which will bring it down as a .rar file

now I am stuck how do I extract this to be meaningful tried 7zip and it reformats the thind and there is no executable file inside

not sure what it even is, is eleanr a programme or a pdf

The .rar should unpack to an .iso CD image file, which you can either burn to CD (using a suitable CD-writing software like MagicISO), or mount directly as a virtual CD drive (also needs MagicISO or similar).

If you're having trouble with the .rar, try Winrar or Peazip.

that's great

so essentially I just need to burn the image to disk or create a virtual disc on my machine so it runs like a programme

will have to spend an evening figuring it out with a bottle of vino for company

Once you have extracted the "ROM" from the .rar, you need to mount the disc (not as much fun as it sounds in fact). If you don't have any virtual drive software installed you'll need to download some, I use "Daemon Tools Lite" it's free forever, easy to use and does the job with minimal nagging to upgrade to a paid version - but there are many other similar programs to use. I once spent a weekend trying to get Microsoft's version of the service working, to no avail. I'd avoid that if I were you.

Following the instructions in your chosen virtual drive software find and mount the disc. It should then show up in "Computer"/"This PC" as an extra CD/DVD drive with the disc loaded. Right click and "Open" the disc in explorer to locate the "setup" file. Double click and follow the installer instructions, it will ask you (in Italian) if you want to create a desktop shortcut, if you don't then it will still create a programs menu shortcut. The "disc" will need to be in the "drive" for the program to run - if your virtual drive doesn't start with Windows and automatically mount the "disc" then you'll need to start it and mount the "disc" manually whenever you use eLearn.

Click/double-click the shortcut and eLearn will open, select your language and vehicle and your done.

There is absolutely tons of really useful info on it - but I find the layout and menus less than helpful. I mostly tend to use the search function to find stuff.

A bottle of nice chianti, should make the process completely painless.

Yes, once you have the CD (burned or virtual) there's a setup.exe in the root dir that you run to install ELearn on your PC. That'll give you Start menu and Desktop icons to run the software.

NB that it will henceforth expect the CD to be in the same drive (or same virtual drive letter) else it gets really upset. As I have learned ;-)
